About Jerry
Hello! I’m a certified secondary teacher with a passion for making history, geography, and the humanities genuinely engaging.
With a formal degree in education and direct classroom experience, I bring a clear understanding of school curricula and grading standards to every session. I know exactly what teachers look for on rubrics and how to help students turn frustrating topics and struggling essays into top marks.
I pride myself on being patient, approachable, and highly adaptable. Whether a student needs help breaking down complex historical events, structuring a strong thesis, or preparing for advanced exams, I build a supportive environment where they can ask questions and gain real confidence.
My goal isn't just to help students pass their next test, but to equip them with the analytical and writing skills they need for long-term academic success.

My Approach
As a certified High School Social Studies teacher, I focus on critical thinking and clear writing rather than dry memorization. I help students make sense of history and geography through engaging discussions, source analysis, and proven essay-writing frameworks.
Typical Lesson Structure
Check-In (5 mins): Review classwork, current grades, or specific trouble spots.
Core Concept (20 mins): Break down key historical/geographic topics using clear visuals and primary sources.
Guided Practice (20 mins): Work together on essay outlines, document analysis, or practice test questions.
Wrap-Up (5 mins): Summarize takeaways and set clear goals for the next week.
What Sets Me Apart
I bring formal classroom teaching experience and a deep understanding of standard curricula. I know precisely how teachers grade essays and exams, allowing me to give students targeted, insider strategies to boost their grades fast.
Who This Is For
Middle & High School Students: General history, geography, and social studies support.
AP / IB Students: Advanced history and geography exam preparation.
Academic Writing: Students needing to improve thesis statements, essay structure, and source analysis.
