About Chaz
As a former national champion, I am familiar with the importance of studying the game and practicing frequently. I have played many openings over my career (both 1.e4 and 1.d4) and am tactically proficient. With limited positional skills, I reached expert level solely based on my tactical ability which I will emphasize in lessons.
I am currently a full-time graduate student at UCLA and have a flexible schedule.

I am a USCF National Master and former scholastic National Chess Champion (2008) with a breadth of knowledge and experience about the game. I am looking for passionate students under 1800 rating looking to improve their play. Preferably students actively competing so that we can review games.
