My teaching method is basically to show the person(s) what is required in basic cooking, techniques, safety aspects of cooking (do's and don'ts) and the achievements/sense of satisfaction you get from this. I have a light hearted approach to teaching and I feel that is the best way to learn, without too much pressure.
