About Amy
I am an A-level student studying at one of the highest achieving state grammar schools in the country. With the new grade system for GCSE's, I achieved a level 9 in English Literature, and a level 8 in English Language. At my school I am currently taking the Cambridge Pre-U course for English which includes poetry, novel analysis and many other categories found within most GCSE courses. English is something I am very passionate about to one day hope to make a profession in doing.

I believe that a casual approach is often necessary with lessons, as the one-on-one lessons I have done before have always been more successful once a student-to-student bond is established. Being a student myself, I truly believe that it is important for those I aid to feel as though I am not above them, but working alongside them to help maximise their full potential.
Lessons with myself will include occasional 'homework' if you will, as extra reading and research is integral for achieving a high grade in an essay based subject. Additionally, the content of the lessons will vary depending on what the student will want to do on that particular day. For example, if poetry analysis skills are something that need being brushed up, then a poem or two will be analysed with my help on that day.
My aim is to help expand the thinking process of the student, as there are always different ways to approach texts in English.
