At school I was a mentor to yr10-yr11 students to help them with their GCSEs. This programme was beneficial to me because it made me understand the importance of an effective educator.

Princess Alice Hospice | Volunteer

Charity work is something that has always been important to me. The Princess Alice Hospice has been a charity I have volunteered with for the past 3 years, from tidying the workspace to collecting in donations.

I also worked directly with the hospice as part of a work experience programme where we were able to talk to the patients.

I was fortunate enough to be able to shadow a doctor- and communicate directly with both the patients as well as the staff. This has only motivated me to excel and seize every opportunity that was offered to me - even when asked to take a nurse’s blood

Strathmore School | Volunteer
2015-2018(PRESENT)
Strathmore was a school for children with disabilities- some of the children have autism so in order to communicate to them we used hand gestures instead. This enabled me to improve my communication and compassion skills and see the development in their behaviour and skills

• Communication Skills: Developed through the role of a chemistry associate
• IT Skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, basic website development and video editing having done IT at GCSE Level.
• Leadership: gained through Sports Leaders Level 1
• Ambitious- Developed when working towards gold dofe


Activities
Working towards gold DofE persevering to the end of the 5 days was extremely important and qualities such as team work and resilience were critical. To help challenge myself outside of my academia, I am currently working towards my gold medal for my drama-LAMDA exam as well as grade 7 in both singing and veena. Furthermore, I am also working towards my diploma in Dance which has meant I have been able to understand culture and time management skills.  These achievements have helped me develop numerous different skills my confidence being the most important. They have helped me stimulate myself which further exemplifies consistency and motivation.
