- Classes Children follow a programme, the starting point being determined by an initial assessment. The maths programme is pure maths - from number recognition to GCSE algebra. As most of my recent students have been working towards exams, I make sure I am full up to date with the curriculum, exam spec and paper layout. I test students knowledge all the time to track progress, especially before and after learning new or difficult concepts. I have a strong belief that 'death by past papers' is the key to exceptional exam results.

I have tutored two students in the past at KS2/11+ level. Both have shown vast improvements in Mathematics, with one getting into the selective St Bernard's School in Slough, and the other waiting for her results. My aim in teaching is to ensure that the student understands the principles thoroughly before attempting any questions, rather than memorising a method off by heart.
My teaching method is to create a checklist of what the student would like to cover in the next lesson so that I have time to compile resources for the student in the lesson. My mum is also a maths teacher so I use her input to help me access resources for lessons.

I believe that lessons need to be tailored to suit a students particular needs, so in the first couple of lessons I try to evaluate the level of the student of what specific topics they need to work on. I regularly go through exam questions so that students are more capable and confident when they take their exam.
