About Hannah
Hello! I am a graduate student in chemistry at Colorado School of Mines, currently pursuing a non-thesis Master’s degree. I earned my B.S. in Biochemistry from Mines in 2025. I have extensive tutoring experience, beginning as a peer tutor in high school through the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, and continuing as a writing tutor at the Mines Writing Center during my undergraduate studies. As a student with ADHD, I understand firsthand the challenges that academic environments can present. This perspective allows me to be especially patient, empathetic, and encouraging, and to tailor my tutoring style to meet individual learning needs. While I am comfortable tutoring a wide range of subjects, my primary areas of expertise include general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and biology.

My tutoring approach emphasizes creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes, and challenging themselves academically. A typical session includes: (1) a brief check-in at the start to assess goals and progress, (2) dedicated time for questions related to current assignments or upcoming assessments, (3) targeted practice activities designed to address areas of difficulty, and (4) a short reflection at the end of the session to reinforce learning and identify next steps. I am comfortable working with students ranging from 9th grade through the college level.
