About Derek
I started out helping out my friends in chemistry in college and later decided to take on a teaching assistant position for several introductory level chemistry classes and then moved on to tutoring organic chemistry.
I like teaching and helping people understand chemistry in a way that makes sense not just in exams but helps build knowledge that associates concepts with real life examples. I love chemistry and I'd like to teach it in a not boring way that I believe many teachers do.

I like to teach chemistry by helping students understand the concept and how to applies to questions in their homework assignment. I have a much better understanding of chemical principles than an average university student and I have experience teaching organic chemistry at college level at University of Illinois, and I have found my teaching method to be effective and popular among students.
I also won a few mathematics competitions in high school and achieved A+ in Calculus and Linear Algebra at university.
My lessons are for students seeking help in high school level math and chemistry, and university level chemistry.
