About Kaitlyn
Hello! My name is Katie, and I hold two degrees in Chemistry, along with experience as both a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the university level.
Throughout my academic career, one of my favorite experiences was helping students build confidence in subjects that initially felt overwhelming. I understand that chemistry can be intimidating, and my goal is to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps that students can understand and apply independently.
I offer support in high school chemistry and introductory university chemistry, including help with coursework, assignments, test preparation, problem-solving strategies, and developing a stronger understanding of core concepts. Whether a student is aiming to improve their grades, prepare for an upcoming exam, or simply gain confidence in the subject, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment tailored to their individual needs.
My teaching style focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and working through problems at their own pace.
I look forward to helping students achieve their academic goals and discover that chemistry can be both approachable and rewarding!

My teaching approach focuses on building understanding and confidence rather than memorization. Chemistry can feel overwhelming when concepts start to build on one another, so I work with students to identify knowledge gaps, strengthen foundational concepts, and develop problem-solving skills that can be applied independently.
Lessons are tailored to each student's needs and goals. A typical session may include reviewing course material, working through practice problems together, preparing for upcoming tests or exams, and addressing specific areas of difficulty. I can also provide support with lab reports, scientific writing, data interpretation, and study strategies to help students develop the broader skills needed for success in science courses.
As a chemistry graduate with experience as a university Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant, I understand both the subject matter and the challenges students face when learning it. My goal is to make chemistry more approachable by breaking complex topics into manageable pieces and helping students build lasting confidence in their abilities.
I offer support for Grade 11 and Grade 12 Chemistry, as well as introductory university chemistry courses.
