About Dr Amrutha
I completed both my undergraduate degree and PhD in Chemistry at Trinity College Dublin. Throughout my PhD, teaching and mentoring were among the most rewarding aspects of my work. I enjoy helping students develop confidence in their abilities, overcome challenging topics, and achieve their academic goals.
Outside of science, I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures. Following the completion of my PhD, I spent a year in Shanghai studying Mandarin and currently have varying levels of proficiency in five languages. These experiences have strengthened my communication skills, adaptability, and appreciation for different approaches to learning.

My teaching approach focuses on maximising exam performance while ensuring students develop a strong understanding of the fundamental concepts. In Science and Chemistry, topics build upon one another, so I believe it is essential to establish a solid foundation before tackling more advanced material. Once students understand the underlying principles, they are better equipped to solve problems and approach exam questions with confidence.
Lessons are typically 40 minutes or longer and are tailored to each student's individual learning style, strengths, and goals. I combine personalised teaching methods with strategies that I have found to be most successful through my previous tutoring and teaching experience. I hold a PhD in Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin and have over 5 years of tutoring and teaching experience. My lessons are suitable for Junior Cycle Science and Leaving Certificate Chemistry students of all ability levels.
