About Stephen
I am an experienced teacher and lecturer in chemistry, physics and biology. I have taught and lectured in multi-phases, from secondary school age to further education including post 16 and degree level study. As a result, I have been involved in a number of moderations of qualifications from different exam bodies across a range of ages and institutions. I am an approachable practitioner; my strengths lie in engaging a range of students from varied demographics. I am able to inspire and enthuse whilst still maintaining high academic standards, with effective classroom management resulting in students making inevitable progress. I have also enjoyed sharing my knowledge and experience with P.G.C.E students through mentoring and guided reflective practice. Whilst teaching Science I enjoy making lessons both challenging and rewarding. I firmly believe in the principles that science and learning should be fun, practical and applied to everyday life. I feel that flexible teaching approaches and structured lesson planning is vital when working with all students including those who have become disengaged from previous learning. I am always looking at ways to improve my practice and aim to be an outstanding practitioner.
