About Selene
I have 8 years of experience teaching Chemistry to students preparing for exams and science-focused pathways. I earned a B.Sc in Chemistry and Materials Science, which gave me strong grounding in molecular theory, applied chemistry, and analytical problem solving. This academic foundation helps me teach chemistry with clarity and relevance.
My teaching style is patient, structured, and focused on building understanding rather than memorisation. I enjoy helping students break down difficult problems into manageable steps so learning becomes less stressful. I encourage learners to ask questions openly and grow steadily.
Outside tutoring, I stay connected to chemistry through scientific reading, interest in modern innovations, and real-world chemical applications. Teaching chemistry is meaningful because students often move from confusion to confidence quickly with the right support. Helping learners grow is what motivates my work.

Chemistry becomes much easier when students understand it as the study of how matter changes and interacts. In my lessons, I guide learners through atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, acids and bases, and reaction behaviour with clear explanation and structured problem-solving. I focus on helping students recognise patterns in chemical systems so learning feels logical instead of overwhelming. Sessions are designed to be calm, supportive, and deeply understandable.
Lesson plans are shaped to student level. Beginners focus on foundational ideas like elements, compounds, and simple reaction understanding. Intermediate learners strengthen balancing equations, mole calculations, solution chemistry, and laboratory reasoning. Advanced students explore equilibrium, kinetics, organic mechanisms, and exam-level analytical accuracy. Practice problems are always paired with step-by-step correction and guidance.
Chemistry lessons help students build both academic success and deeper appreciation for the molecular world. Over time, learners become more confident in tackling complex chemical questions. My goal is to help students feel prepared, capable, and empowered in chemistry.
