My teaching is based on application and forward thinking. I encourage the student to do their own reading and research beyond the regular classes. I've taught students in huge batches of more than 30 students to small batches which require more attention. I've developed my methods for teaching for both cases.
I give lessons at GCSE and A-level level. Techniques and methods depend on students' individual needs and their optimal way of learning. I am adaptable and ready to meet any needs. We've all been in science lessons confused about something so I know from experience how important it is to have something explained in a different way.
Highly experienced and engaging tutor with proven excellent results. Passionate about the Sciences and the art of learning. Member of the Royal Society of Biology and The Tutor's Association. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Experienced in teaching all three Sciences up to GCSE/iGCSE level and A level Biology. - Tell me about your qualifications.
I tend to vary my teaching method depending on the needs and learning style of the student. I like to teach by a direct approach, encouraging the use of past papers to perfect exam technique and practice. I also tailor my teaching to follow the exact syllabus taught to the student, to ensure their exact learning needs are met.
My teaching method is systematic, in the respect that both you and I will set goals to achieve and I will create lesson plans to ensure they are completed efficiency and effectively. My lessons are not only a time for specialised learning, but I will incorporate games and fun to ensure the retention of attention and the willingness to learn more.
What is Lextra and What We Do? Lextra Learning is a tuition company that is here to help tutor individuals with subjects that they may be struggling with, or if an individual has interest in extra learning. Our main core focus is on academic subjects of Maths, English and Science. We believe.... Inspiring Children will lead to Lifelong Success.
I understand that subjects, especially Mathematics and the sciences, may not be taught in an accessible way. Many concepts can be confusing and are not necessarily explained in ways that encourage true understanding.
I base my teaching on understanding the basics, because I believe if you have a strong foundation, you can attempt any question.
First- year medical student from Leeds. Provide online help with Chemistry up to A-level standard. Past papers are the best way forward! Will mark your attempted papers, provide advice where you have gone wrong and model answers for big mark questions.
Socratic which is based on probing the student in discovering. As a teacher I do set the scene for students to find best methods for them to learn in different ways and the discoveries will motivate them to learn more.
Since I am an engineer I prefer to teach children who are in 8th standard or below. I focus mainly on having clarity when it comes to concepts rather than rote methodology.
My teaching method is very much flexible. I orient my class to the student's need and their learning curve. I focus more on the concepts to be understood. And, make sure that it is learnt the right way. The methodology included regular assessments and highly available query clarifications.
I would teach based on what my students would like to cover in that lesson. I would make a lesson plan when necessary and if I feel like my student would need extra teaching in particular areas. I am a very patient person and would love to receive questions and requests when needed.
As a university graduate I have experienced the progression of science from high school to degree level and understand how different teaching methods are needed at each level. Specifications of each level are studied in order to ensure the correct content is taught.
My teaching method starts with uncovering the specific topic(s) a student is weaker in within the subject being taught, and creating teaching plans for each session dedicated to the students needs. I will approach this by producing questions varying in difficulty to go through and explain to the student step by step of the different methods which can be applied to solve the questions provided.
I take each topic at a time and explain each one in thorough detail. I then guide the student through past exam questions where they can apply the knowledge and I can see what they understand and what they don’t. This also helps with exam technique.
I always start simple as this builds the fundamental basics that can be developed to cover the whole topic. In order to learn those trickier topics I think its essential to break down each process and fully understand it before moving onto the next stage by highlighting the most important information in a fun and memorable way, so come results day it can easily be remembered.
I give lessons for GCSE maths in which I got a grade 7 so I know the new specification well. I also teach GCSE science in which I got a grade A in both additional and core. My lesson structure would be teaching you how to work it out, showing you a video and then applying the knowledge to exam questions. I feel this is the best way to learn and from previous experience can say it works.
I am phd student and I am ready to give lessons in chem to all schools level I beleive the chem science not complex so I should make it easy and simple in order to understand I am young teacher and I can work only for part time
I believe that writing is the best way of learning and even for teaching making diagrams, graphs and great notes may help the process.
I approach based on the students needs, I have a problem solving style and I’m very thorough and specific. I try to use lots of analogies to make subjects simpler and easier to understand.
My teaching method is problem and exam based, learning what examiners look for in answers to teach each part of the syllabus.
My teaching method consists of talking to fully understands the issues and then use different techniques to find the best one for the student
I like to base my teaching on the style the learner finds best. We initially agree on the way the learner wants to progress in the subject - which topics to cover first, what kind of resources to use (so for a visual leaner I would use a number of diagrams and images to explain any processes/concepts) and the length of time they would like to spend on each area.
I am a 22 year old undergraduate Chemical Engineer in my 3rd year at the University of Leeds. I am more then happy to give lessons to GCSE students. I believe in knowing the concept behind a method to fully understand a procedure, so it makes it easier and quicker to learn in the future. Being repetitive and going over things is my way of teaching.
Practise is the best way to learn maths so when teaching it, I begin by explaining a new concept to the student, then going through a few problems with them, then letting them go through some problems alone to highlight any problems so I can then explain and fix the problem.
Beginning with finding which areas students are mostly challenged-by, I guide students towards their maximum potential through worked examples and 1st hand exam experience. Completion of further past papers, with my assistance where necessary, ensures students are most confident in their abilities.
My philosophy stems from teaching each student uniquely so that they understand each topic in their own way. As well as empower them to have confidence in their own ability.
Hi, I'm Ellie - I have just finished my A-levels; taking Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. I am really easy-going, approachable and enthusiastic about learning! would love to teach mainly English, maths and sciences up to GCSE level.
I am a student teaching sciences and maths to students at GCSE age or below, teaching through example, model answers, thorough exam analysis and practice. I am very calm and patient, with a strong ability to make things easy to understand.
