About Ella
I have been teaching chess for over eight years, working with students of all ages and skill levels. My chess lessons begin with a focus on openings and basic tactics. Students learn piece development, center control, and king safety, building a solid foundation. I teach how to recognize early threats and opportunities, helping players approach the game strategically and confidently.
As students advance, I emphasize tactical awareness and mid-game strategy. Learners practice forks, pins, discovered attacks, and calculation techniques. Using puzzles and analysis of real games, students develop their ability to anticipate opponents’ moves, make precise decisions, and strengthen their overall understanding of chess strategy.
Endgame skills form a key part of my teaching. Students practice king and pawn endings, basic checkmating patterns, and rook endgames. This ensures they can convert advantages into victories and defend difficult positions effectively, building both competence and confidence for tournament and casual play.
