About Kev
As an illustrator working with publishers all over the world I can not only develop a student’s artistic skills but also give them insights into the industry and prepare them for a career in the arts. I was previously a primary school teacher for 17 years and still travel the world delivering workshops on writing and illustration. I am very passionate about education still and a particular emphasis on art being celebrated and valued as a career.

About the lesson

Lessons will involve warm-up activities to get the creativity flowing before focusing on a draw-along activity with the student. After this, the students will be given a brief which is linked to a real job that could be within the industry so that they can experience what it is like for illustrators as a career. Feedback and technical advice will be given throughout and students will be encouraged to explore their own ideas too. Sessions will last for 45 mins to an hour. Suitable for ages 8+ but also suitable and can be tailored for older children who are interested in following illustration as a career.
