About Claire
Qualification: BA Scottish Music from Royal Conservatoire of Scotland - 2004
Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching & Learning in the Perofrming Arts - 2023
For over 20 years, I have taught privately, and in a community setting for various organisations such as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Cowal Fiddle Workshop, The Lochgoilhead Fiddle Workshop.
Privately, lessons are based around the needs and wants for each individual. I teach pupils to read music or they can learn by ear, we can work towards ABRSM exams - many of my pupils achieve merit and distinction grades. I prepare pupils for SQA exam performance, auditions & competitions. I tutor ABRSM grade 5 theory where my pupils have obtained distinction passes. I focus on improving technique and repertoire.

Hello! I have over 20 years' experience tutoring music working with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland & privately. I am enthusiastic and determined & I get great enjoyment from pupils progressing. Lessons are tailored to individual needs
I teach Violin, Scottish Fiddle and Music Theory.
I have a Bachelor of Arts (Scottish Music) degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama) and 15 years later, I returned to to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and gained a Post Graduate Certificate in "Learning & Teaching in Performing Arts". I have also undertaken some Kodaly music training from NYCOS, as well has maintaining a healthy amount of Continuning Professional Development.
Half hour lessons are recommended for children: £17.
40mins lessons recommended for adults or children preparing for exams are £22.50. Lessons are usually taught in my music room at my own home in G14, or online. I am available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday open to discussion.
All ages and demographics welcome!
We can learn for pure fun or you may like to work towards ABRSM exams - 1-8; SQA exams; RCS exams, Trinity Guild Hall exams, competitions & auditions.
