About Dayton
I'm a composer with 10 years of experience writing for chamber ensembles, orchestras, choirs, and more. My music has been performed across the U.S. and internationally, including at venues like Carnegie Hall. I'm a Fulbright scholar to France, and I have a master's degree in composition from the Yale School of Music and bachelor's degrees in composition (with a piano concentration) and English literature (with a French minor) from the University of Michigan. I've taught students from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, and am passionate about helping my students achieve their goals!

All ages and levels are welcome, from absolute beginners to confident musicians. Lessons are tailored to your unique interests and background: Have you always wanted to learn the basics of music theory but haven't known where to start? Are you a college music major looking for support with your theory and musicology classes? Are you a confident musician and are looking to make the leap into writing your own music? Whoever you may be, I want to work with you on what you're passionate about learning.
