About Sienna
I'm a current university student at Deakin University. I have been looking for more ways to share my skills and give back what has been taught to me, and have found that tutoring and teaching is the best way to do so!
I have been studying the flute for over 11 years now, and scored highly on my VCE flute exam, as well as my AMEB grade 6 exam. I have experience working in group and band settings. I also love researching the flute, so if you have any questions I can't answer I will do my best to research an answer for you!
I can also help with VCE music theory as well as performance practices - I have plenty of experience across the board.

I have been a tutor in subjects such as English and Humanities for around two years now, but I have taught flute to students during my time in high school as a band leader. I am comfortable for lessons to go from 30 minutes to an hour, and can work with students of all ages, but am most confident working with students from grade 3 to year 8 or 9.
I love working with students who are eager to challenge themselves and try new things. Of course, I work at the pace most suited to students' needs, but after learning the basics we get straight into skills and techniques that you need to know at your level in order to advance to more complicated music and techniques.

Details
If students require access to my personal spare beginner flute, there will be an additional $5 maintenance fee (after the free first session) per session. This is to cover the costs of cleaning and disinfecting the instrument after use to maintain hygiene between lessons, and to cover minor maintenance repairs that come with owning a flute. If the spare flute is damaged (in a way that means it is no longer operable without repairs), the student and family will be responsible for 75% of the costs. Thanks for understanding!
