I am experienced, professional saxophone and piano teacher working with all ages and abilities.Learn how to play the piano or saxophone and read music through creative and enjoyable lessons. Play popular music just for fun, or measure your progress with graded ABRSM exams.
I usually teach for half an hour lesson slots anytime during the day, whichever suits you best! I am able to teach a variety of different styles, such as classical and Jazz.
I believe all the best musicians are passionate, creative and have been inspired by another incredible musician! I really thrive to give the most all round experience during my lessons and as well as focusing on technique and ensuring to create the best practical player, I aim to give the drive and passion that all musicians need.
I am a very patient and understanding teacher. Learning music or an instrument is a skill that can be very rewarding but requires a lot of hard work. Having been through the process several times learning to sing, play guitar, flute and piano and also music theory, I understand the need for encouragement and patience above all. Like learning a new language, in music, repetition is important.
I aim to give fun and inspiring lessons that leave the student wanting to improve and learn. Lessons I teach will cover the basics of music from leading how to read and blow an instrument for the first time all the way to be able to nail the your favourite song.
Pedagogies I use are that of El Sistema for groups and pedagogy / knowledge laid out in Deliège and Sloboda's Musical Beginnings and Swanwick's Music, Mind, Education, (Spiral of Musical Development in Children). Given the suitable teaching and environment any child can learn to play a musical instrument.
I give lessons from beginner up to A Level/Grade 8. I structure my lessons to accommodate each student's learning requirements and devising an individual lesson plan. I am calm and encouraging, with an approachable, friendly manner and a sense of humour.
My name is Lydia Redpath and i can give lessons to anyone for flute and the basics for keyboard. I use the exam brand books to teach students the basics and help them work towards grade exams. As i am a student myself i understand that every pupil needs care and patience when learning a new instrument.
I tend to teach instruments combining with music theory so they will learn 2 different but related subjects simultaneously. I usually play duets with my students, that has a huge impact on them plus it's good for us to bond as musicians, as well as teacher-student.
I teach from beginners to advanced, those who are serious and those who want fun! Along with making sure the student is benefiting from playing and performing, I make sure that their capability of music theory is level so they are able to tackle any piece of music.
Whether you want to play for fun or wish to complete grades, I aim to make you the best player you can be. I accept any age and ability and I will cater my lessons to what you want to learn.
I have experience of working will all different kinds of student, therefore I teach according to the needs and age of the student.
I take a student centred approach - it's all about you! The beauty of individual lessons is we can tailor the structure to help you achieve your own goals in a way that works for you. If you're working towards external exams, that's fine too - I will advise you on what you need to do to meet the requirements.
I teach beginners. I understand the simplicity needed to begin teaching. I have taught several friends flute and piano and have others to read music. I spend much of my time picking up other instruments and playing with groups to enhance my playing. I have always loved music and want to help other people love it too.
I love to motivate people to reach their own personal goals and to lead students to tackle their problems without traditional “spoon feeding” techniques.
im a secondary pupil who is very happy and friendly. i would only give lessons to beginners and go no higher than teaching grade 2. i don't have any teaching experience i just wants to share my love of music and have fun doing it.
I'm a Sociology student at Exeter University in my second year. I've been playing the flute since I was about 9 years old, and have completed all the grades.
The first lesson would just be getting to know each other (don't worry the first lesson is free) to see what level you are and whether you want to learn with me or not. Then I will teach you to read the notes, produce noise from the flute and teach you piece's as well as scales.
I am passionate about passing on my knowledge and skills, each lesson will be tailored to the individual for the interests or aspirations. I can teach jazz improvisation, classical, theory and harmony and instrumental technique. Additionally I can work towards ABRSM/Trinity grades. I continually reassess goals to make sure the student is challenged whilst keeping it fun and creative.
I teach simple ways for beginners who wish to start reading music. I also give beginner to Intermediate Flute lessons, either home based or online. I tailor my lessons to the student, any age. I also can offer basic Theory as well, chords, scales and such.
My name is Arya. I was brought up in a musical family and since then fallen in love with the subject. I play and teach the Flute. I hold a Grade 5 in it. I also, teach music theory. The methods I use are The Orff Method. Which is a way to teach music by engaging the mind and body. I also teach with The Suzuki Method. I am patient but am always expecting improvements in my students.
I am very much of the opinion that student-led learning is the most effective and most interesting for both pupil and teacher. Therefore, although there is a national curriculum, exam board schemes, etc., I am keen for pupils to direct their own learning through asking questions and developing their unique thoughts and opinions.
I use a variety of different pedagogical styles depending on the students reasons for learning. My approach with a performance post-graduate would be entirely different from that of a complete beginner or a child or an adult learner. I also understand that students have different learning styles and adapt my approach to accommodate this.
I teach both children and adults who are beginners to intermediate (up to grade 8 saxophone and clarinet; grade 5 piano and flute). I teach a wide range of styles from classical to jazz and particularly enjoy teaching jazz improvisation. I am very patient and am keen to help build pupil's confidence. I have been teaching since 2011.
I am a Second year Bournemouth university student studying marketing. Music has always been a passion of mine and I have been playing the flute for many years, I have achieved my grade 8 and played solo flute in multiple orchestras. I am patient and enjoy helping people pick up the flute and learn music.
Happy to help and/or teach with any level beneath grade 8, or even just ha a practice buddy for duets or the like! I'm a friendly student currently in Sixth Form, who has been playing (and loving) the flute for nearly 10 years, and much as I value grades, I also strongly believe in full enjoyment of music, not just rote-learning pieces to regurgitate them.
I enjoy teaching other students how to play the flute, an instrument that I enjoy, so that they could have something to enjoy too. My lessons will be fun and enjoyable, and there will be some edible treats at the end of each lesson. I work by having a notebook for each student.
My name is Kirsty McGonigle and you read from the title, I am a second year music student at ththe University of Aberdeen. For the past year I have been working with a flute specialist to improve my technique on the flute and will continue to do so throughout the duration of my studies.
I believe that my responsibility as a teacher is to adapt to the needs of each individual student and to learn what methods work for them.
Educated to degree level, I have Grade 8 clarinet with the ABRSM and have put hundreds of children through exams. I have taught music through all school key stages, and am also a confident coach in mathematics. All instruments will be considered.
