About Melissa
I recently graduated from Duke University with a PhD in Classical Studies. I now work with students transitioning from high school to college and I focus on CBT-based learning strategies. I work extensively with students who struggle with procrastination and executive function. In graduate school, I worked with students aged 8 to 25 on topics across the humanities.

I am a versatile and experienced teacher with over 6 years of teaching experience for students aged 8-25. I absolutely love teaching history (especially ancient history!), Latin, and essay writing. I adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of each student and aim to create a fun and low-stress learning environment

I went to graduate school with Melissa, she is one of the smartest people I have ever met and an awesome teacher. She has taught students at many levels of education and they always love her and are engaged in their lessons. She has both taught from curriculum and created her own lesson plans successfully, she’s very attuned to her students’ needs and abilities.
