About Kate
I studied drawing and painting with Nelson Shanks at Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia, PA.
I studied drawing at The Art Students' League in NYC.
I have a BA in studio art and design from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY.
I taught at Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia, PA, the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art in Van Nuys, CA, The Bay Area Classical Artists Atelier in San Carlos, CA and privately in Los Angeles.

Drawing and painting are wonderful and complex disciplines that are good for your development and a lot of fun. You need a clear understanding of the fundamental concepts and how to practice them. I have a very clear process of teaching you the basics, taking you through exercises, covering materials and terminology so you won't be lost or confused. I design each lesson based on what you know and what you need to learn and practice. I specialize in the human figure and portraiture. Beginners, intermediate and advanced students welcome.
