About Brent
I have a bachelor's in music, where I was classically trained, and a master's in music therapy, which helped to further solidify my technical and practical music skills. I am also working on my doctorate in counselor education and supervision, which focuses heavily on teaching and becoming an educator. I have always loved music theory, and I spent a lot of time tutoring and supporting peers with this topic during my bachelor's and master's program.

I take a person-centered approach to my teaching, ensuring that we are working on developing the skills you would like to build. I am able to help with any beginner and intermediate needs.
With beginner music theory, we will start at the foundations, learning about the staff, notes, and clefs. From there, we will build a greater understand of musical notation, including note duration, time signatures, and rests. These skills will continue to develop and build while we start to focus on things such as key signatures and scales. We will continue to further build upon those skills with various other lessons while working towards more intermediate topics.
