About Charlotty
My name is Char and I am an undergraduate BA student at the University of Queensland, taking an extended major in Music and a minor in Drama, planning to further my studies with an Honors year in 2026! Aside from performing arts, I have a passion for mental health awareness and environmental sustainability and am always seeking ways to discuss these subjects through creative outlets. I am a music teacher working with children and beginner adults, helping them develop their love towards and skills on the piano. I also work as a school tutor where I teach primary and high school students a range of different subjects. My most recent project is starting a University hobby and interest club, specifically a baking club! I also hold the role of the club’s President. UQ Bakeology always strives to give back to the community through bake sales and charity fundraisers. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, attending social events, arts & crafts, traveling and attending Pilates classes! I am also an active volunteer and firm advocate for causes I strongly believe in.

I am a bubbly and easy-going teacher who has a personalised approach during lessons that cater to each individual's goals. I make sure to teach the fundamental and basics of piano playing, including proper posture, music theory, and pieces that develop technique, but I also ensure that I keep my lessons fun, giving students the opportunity to nominate a song of their choice that we can learn each time! My lessons run for either 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour. I have 7 years of teaching experience, the past 2 years specialising in piano coaching. I teach students of all ages, the youngest I've taught being 5 and the oldest in their 70s, with their skill levels ranging from total beginner to upper intermediate/ advanced (around ABRSM/ AMEB Grade 8).
