About Samuel
Although I am new to the music scene in New York, I perform regularly on Broadway in shows like Spamalot and Camelot. I also play with a few groups at Carnegie Hall and in Orchestras like the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, New World Symphony, and New York International Orchestra. I have a Masters degree in orchestral performance from the Manhattan School of Music and a B.M. in trombone performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. I am also an avid teacher, teaching low brass students weekly in Long Island at the Greenvale School.

I believe in a wholistic approach to music making. Mindfulness training is at the forefront as we learn to focus our minds on the goal at hand. We will learn to be great musicians through solfege and theory training off of the trombone first, and then apply our skills to obtain a mind body connection to the instrument.

Details
The free lesson, if you choose to do it, is only over webcam. If the lesson is face to face, my normal rate applies, but I will give a 50% discount for the first lesson.
If you are a more advanced player - ages 16 and up - my rate is $100/hr (first lesson is $50). This is because preparing for auditions usually requires a bit more involved teaching because of reviewing recordings and giving comments throughout the week.
