I can teach up to University, diploma level on the French horn. Everything else (trumpet, trombone, recorder, piano, music theory) up to an intermediate level. I tend to have a variety in each lesson, allowing the pupil to have an active say in what they learn. I like to incorporate simultaneous learning as we progress through different stages.
I aim to make the learning of music as fun as possible, engaging my students. I hope to pass my profound passion for music onto my students. I believe that a good music teacher (be it instrumental or theory-based) should not simply teach the instrument. A good music teacher should give their student the tools to be able to work independently, ensuring a secure musical future after tuition.
I like to focus on the needs of each student and make them enjoy what they want to learn, from the first contact with music and the instrument to improve a more advance particular technical aspect. I am offering lessons to people from all ages, from kids to adults.
I have taught all ages in the past but primarily am looking for students in later stages of school, aiming for Grade 5 and above, and potentially music college auditions in the future. I have always believed in the music coming first, so my teaching style will try to encourage an independent thought process into the pieces being played and the message being delivered through it.
I offer 30 minute lessons for young children and/or beginners on the trumpet, trombone and other brass instruments. I also offer performance coaching and recital preparation for those on a degree or preparing for university. As a tutor, I am approachable, understanding and patient.
My teaching style is enabling and empowering and I encourage students to be creative, building technique around student's strengths. I believe in encouraging and motivating. I work closely with parents and develop a stimulating learning environment.
Private lessons mainly aimed at pupils starting a brass instrument or Piano, or who are a beginner looking to improve there skills and complete grades if applicable. I am currently a brass player in a championship section band able to give private tuition in any brass instrument from a beginner to advanced standard.
I'm a brass and piano teacher predominantly although I also currently teach private lessons in music theory (normally with an aim to pass grade 5 theory) and tutor students for GCSE music exams.
Id say my teaching method is to bring some fun to the instrument. I have numerous exercises which I use even in my orchestras to perform well, aswell as a repetoire of fun pieces which anyone wants to play. Despite scales being boring and tricky, I have little techniques inorder to ace them.
My teaching is led very much by example and I believe in a very hands on approach which helps me to to tailor my lesson planning and delivery to suit the needs of individual students.
I would really like to start a trombone student college where every student comes for trombone lessons and I can work towards any grades and BMus Music performance students studying various music scores at any repertoire.
I am a 1st year Medical Sciences student at The University of Exeter. I have a distinction in ABRSM grade 7 and I currently am 2nd trombonist for Exeter University Jazz Orchestra (EUJO). I am a peripatetic music teacher specialising in brass tuition for children and adults. I also teach beginner clarinet, saxophone, recorder and flute lessons. I believe in taking an active approach to music lessons. This means the student is very much an active participant.
My teaching method is unique as I prefer to teach proper technique before any flashy solos. This pays off greatly in the long run as improper technique can lead to slow progress and injury. I am a patient and methodical teacher.
My name is Matthew and I have around 5 years experience in supporting the musical development of children aged 7 - 18. I have an A-level in music and play the trombone at a grade 8 standard although my teaching is not limited to the trombone. I can support and teach most brass instruments and lessons can be provided on a basis as regular as you wish.
My teaching method is to start with a range of exciting exercises to gauge the level of the student to quickly find the correct material suited to that particular pupil. I aim to cover a variety of styles to expose the pupil to lots of different music and to find their real passion which suits them best, while still pushing them to improve.
I'm an enthusiastic and friendly Oxford graduate studying for a Master's at Royal Holloway. Venezuela, dedicated to the world of music for 16 years, I am part of the system of orchestras in Venezuela, with whom I made various tours around the world with different groups. Depending on the level of the student, we will focus on the factors necessary to improve the instrumental performance.
- We will work general basic aspects of the instrument such as the sound, breathing, technic and so on. - We can work in Classical or Jazz Music, working aspects such as improvisation, modern harmony, songs, language... - Any level welcomed and I design and specifically plan for each person depending on what they want to work, the level or the needs of each one.
I have taught theory for years. BUT many think it is just a bunch of rules. THERE'S MORE. Through CONVERSATION, we will explore these concepts. We'll begin at your current understanding then journey together.
02/02 / 2004-04 / 12/2009: Bachelor of Music with honors on technical euphonium, 3 years of trombone at the Music Conservatory of Musical Education Institution Technician "Amina Melendro of Pulecio" Ibague (Colombia). Currently studying Specialized Cycle (DEM) at the Regional Conservatory of Paris (CRR), Paris (France). The lessons are aimed at people of all ages.
My teaching methodology is very individualized. For beginners, I recommend longer lessons times to learn how to read music, some basic music theory, and then delving into there desired instrument. For more advanced students, I encourage them to search for personally chosen pieces which both inspire ad stretch the individual's abilities.
My lessons are focused solely on the goals and aspirations of my students. I build curriculums that are unique to each individual student in order to help them achieve these goals. In our lessons, we will cover all the areas that are essential to one's development as a musician including; music theory, ear training, rhythmic analysis, and technique.

I am an MSU College of Music graduate with a specialty in low brass instruments who teaches beginning and intermediate wind instrumentalists. I've taught myself some basic proficiency on the ukulele which I also feel qualified to instruct. Furthermore, I have a strong concept of music theory and can teach that as well.
I like to approach the lesson by first evaluating what you do and don't know, and then working on a foundation from there. I treat my students professionally but not with a cold shoulder. I listen and play all types of music, and do not exclude anyone based on skill or music tastes.
Gives piano music theory and violin lessons for all levels up to the equivalent of late conservatory study. I am very attached in contact with the student, regardless of age, so that it happens to the best of us. Once this is achieved I adapt to the need of the student.
