About Derry
I have experience in TEFL teaching which I gained in Xi'an, China. Here I taught at a private English school teaching students in various group sizes - ranging from 1 - 30, and aging from 6 - 21. This required tailored teaching styles, as each student/group had different needs & abilities.
I have also tutored friend's, and subsequently friends-of-friends, offspring at 11+, SATS & GCSE levels.
In terms of my relevant academic credentials, I achieved an A* GCSE in English & Maths, a Distinction in English at College & as part of my degree I studied Logic- akin to both verbal & non-verbal reasoning - and achieved an 81.

I am currently studying for a Masters & have always achieved well academically, but tutoring is about recognising weaknesses & passing exams is about more than just being able. I am therefore always looking to adapt my tutoring style to the needs & preferences of the learner.
I also have experience tutoring groups, and would be happy to offer this service (max 3). Furthermore, I will happily refund any student who does not feel that they have benefited from my assistance for any reason whatsoever.
