About Aakifah
Hi, I’m Aakifah. I have three years of experience tutoring through Kumon and teaching one-on-one, including working closely with my younger brothers. I genuinely enjoy working with students and helping them understand material in a way that actually makes sense. I like when concepts click for me, and I want my students to feel that same clarity and confidence.
I am currently on the pre-medical track with a strong interest in neuroscience. Outside of school and tutoring, I enjoy baking, reading, watching basketball, and playing sports, especially volleyball. I tutor basic math through pre-calculus and college-level general chemistry.

- A typical lesson begins with me reviewing core concepts and identifying any gaps in understanding. I then guide students through examples. I reinforce understanding through practice problems that demonstrate multiple scenarios.

Teaching my younger brothers at home also has taught me how to explain concepts in multiple ways and stay calm when students feel frustrated. I focus on creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
