My name is Krystal and I recently graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Biology. I am currently attaining another degree at the Mercy College of Health Sciences. I have previous experience with tutoring. I am very easy-going and will try not to make lessons as miserable as they seem!!

I adapt lessons according to the learner's pace, goals, and prior knowledge by assessing areas of struggles and adjusting the content to meet academic needs. My lessons are directed towards middle school/high school students who are looking for a math/science tutor. Lessons will encourage critical thinking to guide learners to solve problems independently. I am able to provide step-by-step guidance and constructive feedback to highlight strengths and weaknesses. We will work together to set learning milestones to track improvements.
Lesson plans will start with a brief recap of previous lessons or prior knowledge and outlining goals of the session. This is followed by concept explanations of the topic at focus. After students express a general understanding, we will work through problems and solve examples together then I will gradually transition into letting the student solve problems on their own. Sessions will end with a summary of the lesson and a highlight of key takeaways. Students are encouraged to ask questions at any point in time.
