About Alyssa
I am a student of communications in San Diego California. After moving to California from Illinois, I have accelerated my Spanish learning by interacted with the Hispanic communities of San Diego, CA. I have been studying Spanish for the past 6 years, and after having gained the first-hand experience speaking with bonding with native speakers, I have learned many tips and tricks to help me communicate like a native. From the culture to history, I am very well-informed on so much more than the language!

My teaching approach emphasizes the most important aspect of communication: COMMUNICATING! After years of studying, but not actually knowing the language, I realized that the only way to truly comprehend is to speak and listen as frequently as possible. Language is so much more than a textbook, it is how we connect. For this reason, I integrate the language as much with daily life as possible. Songs, shows, movies, and podcasts are all great tools I use to connect myself and my students with the language. I emphasize verbal practice the most to overcome fears and shyness associated with the language.
