About Lydia
I am currently studying Comparative Literature and Cultures, MA at Bristol University. I am also a Bristol graduate with a 2:1 in English Literature and Classical Studies. I have A*s in English Literature A level and GCSE and English Language GCSE. I have previously tutored a student leading up to his GCSE English literature, in which he obtained a level 8. I work well with children of all ages. This is reflected in the 2+ years where I volunteered as a Young Leader for the Girl Guiding Association. I have fantastic communication skills, both verbal and written, and am very organised and hardworking. My extensive education in English literature has not only given me excellent analytical skills, but also a wonderful foundation of historical context to accompany textual readings.

My teaching methodology is based on my students' needs and what they are struggling with the most. I start the first lesson by assessing the student's capabilities and then create a plan which will cater to their areas of weaknesses while still allowing them to exercise their strengths. This might include how to draw analysis from texts, structure essays and recognise and use literary techniques. The skills I will help them foster, once learnt, will be valuable in their higher education too.
