About Sheryl
"Across 13 years of coaching, I have refined my approach to help both juniors and adults sharpen their games. Having earned the FIDE Master title with a peak rating of 2400, I draw on a deep reservoir of competitive knowledge to guide my students. I have seen many individuals reach Australian junior podiums through consistent work.
Calculated ATTACKING PLAY and defensive technique form the core of how I teach. I emphasize pawn structures and middlegame planning while teaching students how to conduct rigorous blunder checking. Cultivating a competitive mindset and improving pattern recognition are essential steps in my process. Tactical patterns and time management also receive focus to ensure a complete understanding of the board."
