About Anastasiia

Hi! I am a 3D Animation & Visual Effects student at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City and a recipient of the Silas H. Rhodes Scholarship. In addition to my artistic practice, I have experience teaching and assisting art classes in an after-school program, helping students create artworks and enjoy the creative process. My work has also led to opportunities to interview for competitive internship programs within the animation industry
My focus is character design, 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering for games and animation. I particularly enjoy stylized designs, creature creation, and bringing mythological, narrative, and fantasy concepts to life through character design.

About the lesson

Ever wanted to see your original designs come to life in 3D? This personalized, 1-on-1 mentorship guides you through the pipeline used by digital artists. You will learn how to develop your original concept from scratch to a finished 3D model render! The course introduces core design principles and the fundamentals of concept art, sketching, and 3D modelling techniques using Blender.

Because this is a private mentorship, the curriculum adapts entirely to your goals.

Learning Objectives

Students will:

Develop original concepts and ideas
Learn visual storytelling through design.
Create concept sketches and turnarounds
Understand Blender's interface and basic 3D workflow
Build a simple 3D model based on their sketch
Apply basic materials and textures
Create lighting and camera setups.
Produce a final rendered image

Choose Your Creative Track!

Because this course is fully personalized, your project can take one of three directions based on what you want to create:

Track 1: The Prop & Asset Track (4–6 Weeks)
Best For: Absolute beginners who want a fast, highly rewarding result.
The Project: Design and build a charming, stylized object (e.g., a fantasy sword, a magical potion, or a cute custom animal mug) using basic modeling techniques.

Track 2: The Character Track (6–8 Weeks)
Best For: Students interested in bringing stylized figures, fantasy creatures, or cute mascots to life.
The Project: Translate a 2D sketch into a clean, low-poly 3D character model using simple shapes and stylized color maps.

Track 3: The World Builder Track (6–8+ Weeks)
Best For: Aspiring environment artists who want to build a small space from their imagination.
The Project: Design a cohesive concept and translate it into a fully modeled, lit, and rendered low-poly room or miniature island scene.

Can I combine tracks?

Absolutely! If you want to build a complete scene—such as a character sitting inside a custom room—we can do that. Because a comprehensive project combines two pipelines, it will naturally take longer (8+ weeks). We will map out a realistic timeline together during your first session.

Flexible scheduling
- Students may reserve any available time slot that works for their schedule. Sessions can be taken weekly at a consistent time or booked individually based on availability.

Requirements:

- A computer or laptop capable of running blender
- Blender (free software)
- A drawing device:
- Drawing tablet with drawing software (Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, etc), or iPad with a drawing application (e.g., Procreate)
- Internet access for downloading free resources and course material.
