  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

I developed a passion for music very early on—around the age of six, I had a natural curiosity for the piano in our cozy flat in Warsaw. I was fascinated not only by the sound and tried to imitate the tunes I heard on the radio. Sometimes more sometimes less successfully… Over the years, the piano became my closest companion, allowing me to explore a lot of beautiful music.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I don’t listen as much as I would want to because I spend a lot of time teaching my students and also practicing piano myself. Sometimes the silence is the best to bring back the fresh ear. But for inspiration I think I like to listen romantic composers like Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Brahms. Beyond classical I often return to Keith Jarrett’s improvisations. His Cologne Concert, in particular, feels inexhaustible.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

I would love to teach a course on “The Art of Interpretation: Between Fidelity and Freedom.” It’s one of the most difficult aspects of being a pianist—learning how to be true to the score while also making it your own. Students would wrestle with questions like: How much personal expression is too much? When does interpretation become distortion? It’s a riveting journey, because every student discovers their own artistic voice through this process.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

Of course the piano itself is among the most complex—because it demands not only technical precision but also immense mental stamina. Unlike wind or string instruments, the pianist has to manage harmony, melody, and rhythm all at once, often imitating the sound of an entire orchestra. But at least it is one of the easiest to start with!
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

I think discipline above all and curiosity. I’ve learned that success in music is hugely dependent on the consistency but needs also a willingness to explore, to fail, to be curious about every phrase. Also, resilience—because every musician often faces setbacks, and the way you recover shapes your artistry.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

•Frédéric Chopin – to ask him what do he think about his contemporaries like Liszt, Schumann and others.
•Martha Argerich – to hear her speak where does she get from the freedom and instinct in interpretation; she has a fearless artistry I deeply admire.
•Bill Evans – ask him what would be his advice to get the harmonic sensitivity in jazz. It would be very fascinating.
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

During my studies in the UK, I once had a masterclass where a professor stopped me mid-performance of a Beethoven Sonata and asked: “Can you stand up and conduct to me while I play?”I froze, because I did not have much experience in leading an ensemble or directing. However it made me realised that piano music has to be played like by the orchestra and everything is connected in time. That moment reshaped my approach to music making and opened up new creative ideas for teaching others.
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt. Every student learns differently, and my role is to find the path that unlocks their potential. I bring not only technical knowledge but also the musical depth of having studied in both Poland and the UK, which gave me a blend of different approaches and creative openness. Above all, I try to pass on not just skills, but a love for music that can sustain a lifetime.
