About Iona
I am a 26 year old creative writing and cinema theory student, with a background in jewellery design and international studies. I have also been practicing marital arts for 12 years, and teaching it for about 3.
Growing up I moved around a lot, from England to Sweden to Switzerland, and this is where I acquired my French. Half of my family is French and Swedish, and the other Romanian, so we grew up speaking a medley of languages.
Needless to say, my interests are varied and I hope to be able to cater to yours accordingly.

Havinggrown up learning 3 languages, as well as undertaking German and Spanish at both school and university, I have experienced the highs, as well as the lows, of language tutoring.
My belief is that the best way to learn anything in life is by way of involving your personal passions and interests. And with language in particular, active practice is key. Depending on whether the student is comfortable with it, lessons will be run mostly in French.
