I have my teaching certification for the state of Rhode Island in and my degree in Elementary and Special Education grades 1-6. I have 5 years of classroom experience and have taught all grade levels in both core subjects (math, reading, writing, science, social studies), but also in special subjects such as technology and library studies. I have my teaching certification for the state of Rhode Island in and my degree in Elementary and Special Education grades 1-6. I have 5 years of classroom experience and have taught all grade levels in both core subjects (math, reading, writing, science, social studies), but also in special subjects such as technology and library studies. I have experience with special education and have worked with students of all levels.
I love to incorporate student interest and technology within my lessons to make them both engaging, fun, and targeted to the needs of the learner. I begin my sessions getting to know the student's likes and dislikes relating to school, the subject, and in general to get to know them before I teach them. I also give an introductory assessment based on the subject taught to gain a baseline understanding of the student's general skill level in that area. This will allow me to tailor each lesson specifically towards the student.
