About Maddalyn
Hello! My name is Maddie, I am a student at Ball State working through my fourth year, and I am passionate about helping others become more proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English! I graduated from high school in 2022 with a 4.2 weighted GPA, and other accomplishments of mine include scoring a 5 on the AP College Board Language test and scoring a 1320 out of 1600 on the SAT. My approach to tutoring is kind and patient, providing positive affirmations and gentle corrections. Lesson plans are customized to your individual needs and will include an informal assessment of current abilities as well as a discussion of goals and how to best achieve them. I am a passionate believer in the importance of phonics in the teaching of reading and the basics of English, so that is an area I focus on with clients learning how to read and sound out words. I am best qualified to work with clients as young as kindergarten and as old as high school, and I also have experience working with children with cognitive and developmental disabilities.
