About Christopher

Hello, and welcome!

My name is Christopher Allen, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in History at the University of Texas Permian Basin, where I maintain a strong academic record and continue to develop advanced research, writing, and analytical skills. I have a passion for history and enjoy helping students understand not only what happened in the past, but why it matters.

My goal as a tutor is to make history engaging, accessible, and meaningful for every student. Whether you are preparing for an exam, working on a research paper, taking an AP or college-level history course, or simply looking to deepen your understanding of the subject, I will tailor lessons to your individual needs and learning style.

I specialize in European History, U.S. History, World History, and Mexican American/Chicano History. My lessons emphasize critical thinking, source analysis, essay writing, and historical interpretation—skills that help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

As someone who is bilingual in English and Spanish and currently lives in Mexico, I have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and understand the importance of adapting instruction to meet each learner where they are. I strive to create a supportive and professional learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing confidence, and achieving their academic goals.

I believe that history is more than memorizing dates and events—it is the study of people, ideas, and decisions that continue to shape our world today. I look forward to helping you build a stronger understanding of history and reach your full academic potential.

European History Tutoring
My Teaching Method and Techniques

My approach to teaching European History focuses on developing historical thinking skills rather than memorizing dates and names. I help students understand cause-and-effect relationships, historical context, continuity and change, and the significance of major events and individuals.

My teaching techniques include:

Interactive discussions that encourage critical thinking.
Analysis of primary and secondary historical sources.
Timelines and visual aids to connect events across different periods.
Practice with historical writing, DBQs (Document-Based Questions), and essay construction.
Guided note-taking and study strategies for exams.
Connections between historical events and contemporary issues to increase engagement.

I adapt lessons to each student's learning style and academic goals, whether they need help with coursework, AP European History, university classes, or personal enrichment.
