About Toby
My name is Toby and I am a English Spanish speaker, studying Hispanic Studies with Portuguese at the University of Liverpool. Originally from London, I started learning Spanish when I was 16 years old, and have fallen in love with the language and cultures of the Hispanic world. I want to get into teaching Spanish to make learning languages more accessible for others.

My method of teaching Spanish focuses on conversational skills that create confidence in using and understanding the language to a high level of proficiency. My lessons can be centred around preparations for oral examinations or more general, day to day real life conversational Spanish. As spoken Spanish is my strongest aspect, high levels of participation are a key part of my lessons which means that they will be great for improving speaking confidence as well as developing other skills such as listening and coming up with ideas on the spot, much like in exams (but under much less pressure!) As an English speaker who learnt Spanish, I have a strong understanding of what works best to improve as a Spanish speaker.
