About Mariko

I am currently a medical student at the University of Dundee. I’ve been playing the violin since the age of 2 and have since earned multiple prizes from international competitions and earned my Trinity College London music diploma. I am very passionate about music and the way it can tell stories and engage with audience members and have therefore, around 5 years ago, began teaching students what I have learnt over the years about the violin.

About the lesson

- Lessons are one hour long (online)
- Believes that music is for everyone and teaches valuable lessons that can be applied to many aspects in life (e.g. discipline and resilience)
- Lessons will consist of many technique advice and will heavily focus on making the music tell a “story” rather than just be notes on a page

- Current medical student and a concert violinist for 18 years - Trinity Diploma holder and international prizewinner of violin competitions with 5 years experience of violin tutoring
