I currently have no official experience in personal tutoring, however I have previously been relied upon by my teachers to mentor younger students in maths, have taught maths lessons to a class of children in Malawi and have helped out with/observed multiple maths lessons at the junior school I volunteer at.
I am currently in my gap year. I received an A* in GCSE maths and an A in A Level maths. I am currently volunteering at a junior school so I have experience with teaching others as well as having been DBS checked.
I can only access places using public transport so if a taxi is required to reach your property I would appreciate that part of the journey being funded by the client.
Lessons will still be charged if cancelled on the same day.

B.L.O.B.S. / Peer support team
I was a part of the school peer support team assigned to helping new year 7 students settle in. I personally helped one girl struggling to keep up with homework assignments by making a homework plan for her and meeting her regularly to ensure she was achieving her goals.
As house captain I motivated and encouraged the younger students, whilst recognising their strengths and weaknesses to develop their confidence
CRED team trip / Malawi 2016
During the summer of 2016 I travelled to Malawi with a group of other students to teach children at a local school key English and Maths skills, among other things. I led three lessons on maths with one of these being specifically commended by the Headmaster of the Malawian school. This was particularly challenging due to the language barrier and wide range of abilities within our class. I believe that this experience taught me some key skills including patience, interpersonal skills and non-verbal communication. This trip of a lifetime was very eye opening and has changed the way I act in various ways now I am back in Brighton such as I feel I am a lot less wasteful now and I try my best to be as positive as possible always after observing the constant optimism of the Malawian people.
Brighton Youth Orchestra tour / Tuscany 2018
As part of the Brighton Youth Orchestra we tour annually around Europe, as well as concerts in Brighton. We recently travelled to Tuscany where we were performing and rehearsing in venues such as the Church of Santo Spirito in Florence. We also had free time to explore various cities and immerse ourselves in the culture.
I began to take an interest in Psychology a few years ago after attending several talks, delivered by leading psychologists, in the annual Brighton Science Festival. I found the topic of Social Influence most fascinating at A Level as I enjoyed recognising the things I was learning about in the behaviour of people around me.
I am a member of the Brighton Youth Orchestra playing oboe and cor anglais. I have also had roles in the school orchestra, school choir, chamber music ensemble and flute ensemble as well as performing solo concert pieces. I took part in all the school musicals and I also enjoy attending professional concerts of varying genres.
