I believe that success in biology stems from interest in the subject therefore I would highlight the application of biology in everyday life and make sessions very interactive so that each lesson is engaging.
I would base my lessons around weak areas of my students and follow the lessons up with exam style questions so that their knowledge can be replies. To begin lessons I would offer some quick fire questions about all areas of biology to identify which areas may require further attention in the future.
What allowed me to excel in the subject was creating anagrams where applicable all throughout the subject to make it memorable.
