My main focus in any tutoring session is mastery of the subject material. However, I think the most effective way to do this is to provide each student with an "all-encompassing" lesson plan. If I can ground the material in areas they already are comfortable and familiar with, then they are more likely to have long-term retention. My lesson plans would vary depending on student level and subject. However, I would likely have a similar structure and varied approach for each session.
I have two degrees in journalism and anthropology with an english minor. In addition to this, I am also serving as a Teach for America Corps member with a focus in elementary education.
