About the lesson

Interested in cybersecurity but feel it's only for experts? Need to secure an application or prepare for a career in Security Operations (SecOps)?

This course is designed for cybersecurity and computer science students, web and API developers who want to identify and fix security vulnerabilities, and career changers aiming to become SOC analysts or junior penetration testers.

My teaching approach: You'll gain hands-on experience from your very first lesson in safe, legal, and controlled environments, including dedicated labs and intentionally vulnerable machines. Every vulnerability is explored through a real-world scenario, exploited in a controlled lab, and then fixed using professional security practices.

What you'll learn:

OWASP Top 10: SQL injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), broken authentication, and common web vulnerabilities.

Network Security: Nmap, Wireshark, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and network traffic analysis.

Applied Cryptography: Hashing, encryption, TLS, and secure communications.

Ethical Hacking & Penetration Testing: Professional pentesting methodologies, vulnerability assessment, and security reporting.

Professional Security Tools: Burp Suite, Metasploit, and OWASP ZAP.

Secure Development: Identifying, preventing, and fixing vulnerabilities in web applications and APIs.

Proven results: Identify and fix your first security vulnerability by the third lesson and develop a solid understanding of professional penetration testing methodologies within 8–12 weeks. Several of my students have successfully started careers as junior SOC analysts or penetration testers.

Flexible learning options: One-time sessions for specific challenges, regular lessons, or intensive programs, including preparation for CEH, eJPT, and CompTIA PenTest+ certifications. Basic computer and networking knowledge is recommended.
