About Leah
I am teaching artist with over 20 years of experience in the instruction of movement art forms. Before I danced, I earned a 3rd degree Black Belt in TaeKwonDo with a Level 1 Instructor Certification. Afterward, I trained in Vaganova Ballet Technique and Horton Modern Technique as well as Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, and Tap. I earned my degree in Musical Theatre and Dance from the University of Alabama, trained in Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester, and worked in regional theatres up and down the east Coast. Recently, I choreographed a dance fashion show for New York Fashion Week for the fashion lines of EDM artist DRMAGDN, where I also launched my own dancewear line, Leahtards.
In my classes, we will tailor the curriculum to YOUR interests and goals. You will learn so much more than technical concepts - you will learn about your own body and mind!

Knowledge of how the body functions is pivotal for creating a strong technical base, as well as preventing future injury. When a student can fully visualize how their joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments work together to create motion, they can turn dance training into a healing and evolving process, instead of always avoiding activities at every pinch and twinge.
