Each week will be devoted to learning something new that nourishes a passion within performing arts and music. My lessons are educationally based, learning western traditional methods as well as different innovative methods. The topics will be split up into different mini-projects that we cover to provide the important key factors of a healthy musician and singer, this in doubt will a positive effect on their creative growth and on compositional writing too. The topics will include performance building confidence, postural structure, breathing techniques, and all factors of learning pitch aurally within the topic 'musicality skills'. In my sessions, we learn scales/arpeggios and techniques to reach their full singing potential. I also teach other topics that help identify tempo, pulse and writing out rhythms, while detecting the notation style of music, annotating the dynamics and any other read part of the music. A written and aural mini-test will take place each week at the start of the second part of the lesson after 1hour, or 30mins of singing, we continue the lesson for Music theory which will cover the week priors topics and the topic we are currently working on in the singing part. This will really help your child understand the music she/he is reading and learning to sing.
Motivational markers are prominent and will be addressed in each session whether it being the group session or 1-1. Children will mostly stand in the 1hour Choir session, although will access in the Music theory session to sit on cushions around the working table.
I am a graduate BMus Music student who is passionate about sharing my passion for music to children. I have on going private lessons in singing, piano and music theory. I think it is important that children understand the music that they would be composing and so it gives them the best possible chance to learn music entirely! I am interested in leading a career to something meaningful and moral through storytelling for example. I worked at a school previously that studied value words (such as respect), and I’d enjoy redoing this through music storytelling (and music theatre) workshops!
