Dear Sir/Madam,
I am seeking the opportunity to apply myself to a varied and challenging Science Tutor position, to capitalise on both my educational and professional experience whilst allowing me to progress in my career and advance within teaching as well as management in general.
I am currently working at Harris Academy Upper Norwood. During my training I was placed in three different types of schools in England. I was recently placed at Chase High School, which is a community school. I was at Holycross RC School earlier and my first placement was at Streatham and Clapham High school.
I come up with high quality planning and teaching experience in accordance with the school KS3 and KS4 syllabus and the National Curriculum. I planned and taught my students according to their educational needs. I expertise in planning, teaching and evaluating lessons. I professionalised my teaching by assessing students’ learning by recording and reporting on their development and progress. My teaching experience was with pupils’ age range 11-19.
I also promoted general progress as part of my tutor lessons in all the three schools. All the activities I did in the schools were in accordance to the schools’ policy on safeguarding. I successfully communicated with pupils’ parent through individual academic interviews and parent teacher evenings. In my last school I learnt and wrote some term reports with the assistance of other colleagues. I worked collaboratively with the Science department to enhance our teaching and monitor students leaning by carrying lesson plan audit and book audit. I learnt and can successfully applying making strategies set by the nation curriculum and promote students achievement by giving them a level and boost their effort by telling them what they need to do to achieve a higher level.
I believe that progress is achieved by good appraisal of students’ performance and behaviour management. I also co-operated and advised others on preparation delivery of learning, including pastoral provision as well. I always maintained discipline and strong behaviour management as well as safety in my lessons and school premises As an effective classroom practitioner, committed to raising the standard of every pupil in my care, I am conscientious, thorough and well organised in all areas of my planning, teaching, marking, assessing, and display and discipline capabilities.
I have strong ICT skills; I always prefer to include ICT, Numeracy and Literacy opportunities in my lesson. Sometimes taught science lessons are boring to students and I always make it enthusiastic by including interactive activities. Differentiated tasks and good application of literacy and oracy in my lesson have always been praised.
I am suitable for this post as I got all the experiences in teaching KS3 integrated science, KS3 separate science, KS4 BTEC, KS4 GCSE core, GCSE double award, and triple science. I have even taught KS5 Biology and Chemistry in Streatham and Clapham High school. Added to this all my teaching experiences and skills matches your need of a science teacher. If I am given a chance to work for your school I will excel at my best to promote the general school standards. I am also looking to relocate in the vicinity of the school.
I can even work under pressure and ready to take any challenge to contribute towards learning and progress. I am also multilingual fluent in French and Hindi, moreover I come up with a master’s degree in Forensic analysis which I believe can be used with KS3 students as an extracurricular activity.
I believe that effective science teaching in schools is essential, both for ensuring a satisfactory degree of scientific literacy in society at large, and for equipping the next generation of scientists and engineers to progress into higher education and beyond. I have the experience and contribute towards this achievement in my placement schools. Now I feel ready to extend this experience of science teaching in your school
I would be glad to expand on this at an interview and could attend at any time, given a few days’ notice. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely
