About Lisa
I am a Piano tutor with 12 years of experience helping college students improve their musical abilities. I believe that every student can learn effectively when lessons are tailored to their needs and delivered in a supportive environment.
My teaching style is interactive and goal-oriented. I encourage students to participate actively, ask questions, and practice regularly. I explain concepts clearly and use practical demonstrations to strengthen understanding.
To keep lessons engaging, I use innovative teaching methods such as digital learning tools, rhythm exercises, ear training, and personalized song selections. These methods help students develop both technical skills and musical creativity.

My teaching methodology is focused on helping students enjoy learning piano while building confidence and strong musical skills. I believe every student is unique, so I first understand their goals, learning style, and current level before planning lessons. This helps me provide personalized guidance that keeps students motivated.
I use real-life examples and practical case studies to explain musical concepts. Rhythm is connected with everyday actions such as walking, clapping, and speaking. Music theory is explained using songs students already know, making it easier to understand scales, chords, and melodies. This practical approach helps students remember concepts and apply them naturally.
Understanding is the foundation of my teaching. I encourage students to ask questions and fully understand every topic before moving forward. Instead of only memorizing notes, students learn how music works and how to use that knowledge while playing.
Communication is one of the strengths of my classes. I explain lessons in simple English, demonstrate every technique carefully, and provide regular feedback. Students feel comfortable discussing their difficulties, and together we find solutions that improve their confidence.
Integrity guides every lesson I teach. I believe in honesty, respect, punctuality, and dedication. I encourage regular practice and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small.
Besides piano, I also teach keyboard, music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, improvisation, accompaniment, chord progressions, and beginner music composition. My aim is to help students become confident musicians who enjoy music throughout their lives.
