I am a professional linguist, a UN-accredited freelance conference interpreter, a translator, a language teacher, a true Latin America geek, and above all, I love sharing my passion with my students.
My methodology is simple: I adapt to your needs, goals and level. If you want to learn basic Spanish to enjoy your next vacation in Peru or if you need to master the language to get a high score for your GCSEs or seal a deal with a company based in a remote Hispanic land, I'm happy to help.
My lessons are a fun mix of grammar, verbs, culture and vocabulary. I use many different types of material to put all your senses to good use. We will work on texts, videos, audio files as well as oral conversation.
Having lived in several Spanish-speaking countries - namely Spain, Paraguay, Chile and Mexico, not to mention my travels in Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia and Guatemala - I have a sound knowledge of the language and cultures of the Hispanic world. I am also the holder of a bachelor's degree in Hispanic studies, a master's degree in translation, a master's degree in conference interpreting, a postgraduate diploma in Latin American studies and a diploma in business Spanish.

I have worked as a private tutor of Spanish for quite a few years, since 2006 to be precise. I have taught all kinds of learners, from 12 to 35, from school students to professionals. All my students were able to boost their level of Spanish, some of them even managed to get a few extra points on their tests. Now, of course, student dedication is key to the process of learning so the more you practice, the better you get.
I normally teach lessons of 90 minutes. However, I can also arrange lessons for 60 minutes or 120 minutes.
If I teach at home: 35£/hr
If I teach at the student's or elsewhere: 40£/hr
If I teach online: 25£/hr

Marie was a great teacher. I already knew a bit of French but Marie helped me improve my level to take B2 test, required for me to study in France for a semester, in the ESCP. Her lessons were dynamic and interactive; she gave me clear explanations whenever I struggled with some grammar rules. She was always very patient and did not mind repeating me the examples, vocabulary, exercises or any other information. She also gave me a great insight into de French culture, which made my cultural immersion much easier. I am aware of her proximity with the Latin American culture, which could be the main reason of her successful teaching abilities with me.
