About Rhiannon
When I am not teaching or tutoring, I like to spend time with my parents and my husband. We like to watch movies (scary ones are my favorite), try new restaurants, and take day trips. I also like to spend time outdoors in northern Arizona camping, hiking, bird watching and walking. When I have time, I love to settle in with a good book. Some of my favorite authors are Stephen King, Joyce Meyer, Lee Strobel, Preston & Child, and James Patterson. I also like to read documentaries and texts that allow me to continue learning. I also have a creative side and enjoy scrapbooking, crafts, and designing digital products for my Etsy store. My other favorite past time is playing video games with my husband. Some of our favorites are Tomb Raider and Horizon.

I have always been passionate about helping others. I also consider myself a life-long learner. My 25-year-long career as a surgical technologist and adult educator has given me the opportunity to serve my community in many ways. Continuing to serve as a tutor is another way I can keep doing that. I believe learning should be fun, interactive, and engaging. Also, learning strategies should be tailored to each student's unique needs. For the last 12 years I have found joy in teaching others how to assist in the operating room as a surgical technologist. This has allowed me to develop a high level of competency teaching courses such as anatomy and physiology, microbiology, medical terminology, communications, surgical specialties, and surgical instrumentation. I hold certifications in surgical technology and sterile processing. I have undergraduate degrees in liberal arts and surgical technology, a bachelor's degree in business and marketing, a master's degree in business administration, and a doctorate in education. My experience and coursework have prepared me to teach others how to hone their craft in career education, business, writing, and education. It has also helped me to gain a better understanding of how to set my learners up for success in their classes, as well as their careers. Not only do I have knowledge in the coursework mentioned above, I am a strong writer. I completed my dissertation on learning games, so I am extremely passionate about combining LEARNING and FUN to help my learners succeed!
