About Ruthann
Pedagogy lineage shaped my path from early Yale days to my current studio. I trained under a Peabody master to refine my ear before I touch the keys. I help you develop an inner sense of the music before playing your first note.
Students master pedaling technique, chord voicing, and hand independence through systematic drills. Whether working on complex sight playing or contemporary pop, I balance strict RCM exam prep with repertoire choices that spark genuine joy. Achieving 23 distinctions at Grade 8 and above requires a patient, methodical touch. I hope to hear from you soon.

Starting our first session requires absolute silence so we can practice audiation instead of rushing into performance. Complex musical problems often disappear when a student learns to listen to the inner melody before relying on muscle memory.
My Yale training ensures that technical accuracy is grounded in a deep understanding of sound production. We dedicate time to the intricacies of voicing chords while maintaining physical relaxation during difficult passages.
You will receive 8.0 pages of free access to my annotated practice notes after every lesson to guide your home progress. Sight playing remains a constant feature to sharpen your mental map of the keyboard. You will gain a clear direction for your daily practice throughout the week.
